On the 1st October 2012, the Scottish Government launched the Green Home Cashback Scheme. The scheme offers owner occupiers, private and social tenants and private sector landlords up to £500 towards energy efficiency measures that are recommended in either the Energy PerformanceCertificate (EPC) or Green Deal Assessment.

Properties eligible for this scheme will require an EPC or Green Deal Assessment before installing energy saving measures, and an EPC after the changes are made. In addition to the £500, owner occupiers, private and social tenants and private sector landlords will also be entitled to claim up to £100 towards the cost of these EPCs.
